CLI Executive Director
Kelly Hunter Ed.D. is the Executive Director at Children’s Literacy Initiative. Prior to moving into this role in December 2011, she served for four years as CLI’s Director of Professional Development, providing the vision and leadership to continually enhance and expand literacy professional development services for pre-kindergarten through third grade teachers. Prior to her tenure at CLI, Kelly worked as a Literacy Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was responsible for the professional development of elementary literacy coaches, teachers, and principals in low-income school districts throughout the country. She also worked as an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania and a Project Manager at the University’s National Center on Adult Literacy. Kelly, who is a certified Reading Specialist, holds a Bachelor of Science from Drexel University, and a Master’s Degree and Ed.D. both in Reading/Writing/Literacy from the University of Pennsylvania.
