CLI products were created with 25 years of experience in the field and are designed to support the implementation of effective literacy practices. We offer a wide variety of book collections and other support materials including classroom collections, home lending libraries and Message Time Plus® accessories. Each Author Study Box provides the books and materials for an author study: 5 to 7 books by the same author, portrait, biography, and bibliography.
Choose individual 6-packs from CLI's list of Guided Reading Sets. Each set contains 6 copies of a single title. Titles are subject to change.
To help parents support children’s learning, CLI offers a Home Lending Library of award-winning children’s books in paperback or board editions. The pre-kindergarten and kindergarten collections are chosen for parents to read aloud to children, while the collections for upper grades include read alouds and an increasingly larger percentage of books children can read on their own. Home Lending Libraries are available in small and large sizes. The collections come with a home lending library guide, a bookrack, plastic bags to protect the books, and library cards and pockets.
CLI's Independent Reading Collections are based on guided reading levels and are intended for use in independent reading or Reading Workshop. These collections include single copies of both trade and text-leveled books. These titles include many informational and nonfiction books and a variety of the fiction series titles most popular with young readers. Collections come with a leveling guide, storage baskets, and labels for leveling the books.

The informational text collection contains a blend of trade books and grade appropriate leveled texts. The books feature informational text structures and features including photo captions, charts, graphs, sidebars, etc. The collection supports the Common Core State Standards.
Message Time Plus® is a modeled writing and shared reading instructional program for pre-kindergarten through third grade developed by CLI.
This collection features CLI's favorite new read alouds. These books are exclusive to this collection and have not been part of any other CLI Collection. It is a perfect way to update your Read Aloud Collection.

Read aloud collections contain a wide variety of genres, including nonfiction, poetry, folk tales, picture books, and chapter books, and reflect the rich diversity of cultures in our classrooms. Small, medium, and large collections are available for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first, second, and third grades. Collections come with a collection guide and book rack(s).
Books in the Reading and Writing Workshop Collections are trade books selected to be mentor texts to model and extend the lessons most commonly used in these workshops. These collections are available in small and large sizes for kindergarten through 3rd Grade.
Topics include: launching, character development, questioning, predicting and inferring, story elements, summarizing, text difficulty, visualizing, craft lessons on beginnings, descriptive language, character, generating topics, plot, and theme; genres such as letters, memoir, and poetry; mentor texts including realistic fiction, expository nonfiction, narrative nonfiction, literary nonfiction, and personal narrative.
